Probus
Club Limerick 922 is the youngest Probus Club in Limerick,
Ireland.
Set
up in 2006, under the sponsorship of Limerick Shannon Rotary
Club it is one of over 130 such clubs in Ireland.
Meetings normally,
are in 'Bobby
Byrnes'
, O'Connell Avenue , Limerick, each Tuesday from
September through to May
at 10.30am
Overall club membership is limited but currently new
members will
be welcomed
contact can be made through any member
Like
all Probus clubs we meet
for fellowship, friendship, conversation and social
interaction over coffee or tea. After any necessary
club
business is dealt with, we usually have a guest speaker on a
subject of common interest with a question and answer session
to
follow. Visits to places of interest are arranged either for
our
own members or in association with other Probus clubs and
on occasions each year we meet for a meal when we are joined
by
spouses
and friends.
Probus Clubs are an
International association of clubs for retired and
semi-retired
professional and business people who meet for fellowship and
an
extension of their interests. Clubs are non-political and non
sectarian and each one is a completely independent entity .
About
Limerick - link to Wikipedia
article
We
have one criticism of this Wikipedia article - the
paragraph on Government has a very selective and partial listing
of Mayors For one it fails to
mention current Probus Limerick922 President Bobby
Byrnes who was Mayor of Limerick on a number of
occasions
.
